New building update – Waiting for the building permit to come back
At High Plains Harvest, we believe that the CHURCH of God is the PEOPLE of God, not the place of God. A building does not make a church – it is simply a tool for God’s people to meet periodically and to serve and bless those He has called us to reach.
Over the last many months, we have been looking and praying to see if God would have a place for us in the community with a little more space. Recently a building just a block away from us became available for rent. As a church body we have been praying and seeking the Lord’s will regarding this new place to gather.
After much prayer and discussion, it is clear that the Lord is moving us to a new gathering place, just down the street from our current building. The new space is located at 108 1st Street in Ault (the old Johnson’s Market location). We have signed a lease and begun transforming the inside into our new home. Our prayer is that our first service will be Christmas Eve next month.
Last week we submitted our building plans to the Town of Ault and are now waiting for the permit to come back from SAFEbuilt. We are praying that we can get the permit back by next week so that construction can be finished in time for Christmas.
